My personal blog: Honoring my Soul

‚Äč

"I utilize different modalities which foster self-love and radical self-acceptance as one heals and transform from trauma, old childhood wounds, child sexual abuse, relationship wounds, grief and more.

I believe recovery is a process that is about progress, not perfection. The practice of positive thoughts takes time and as a therapist, I can guide you. Especially because we have a lot of negativity locked in our brains (self-aversion) and in our society. It takes a commitment to a daily practice of positive cognitions via meditation, self-soothing talks and self-care activities.

In therapy, we can make these your goals and take baby steps to achieve them at your own pace. We can learn to live more joyous and more full filling lives-which is our birthright. The more emotionally present we become for ourselves: the better we are able to relate with more emotional intimacy with self and others.

My therapeutic approach is to provide support and practical feedback to help clients effectively address personal life challenges. I integrate complementary methodologies and techniques to offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each client.

With compassion and understanding, I work with each individual to help them build on their strengths and attain the personal growth they are committed and aspires to accomplish."

She is a student of  Yoga and shares the knowledge of specific Kriyas and meditations from her teachers/mentors.
Antonia is passionate about assisting clients with fostering "mindful and conscious" relationships and creating healthier boundaries with relationships which are less than healthy.  Antonia encourages self realization and self responsibility. She encourages gentle, kind and loving communication techniques for self regulation of triggers and/or reactions. The practice non engagement or response (instead of reaction) is often a universal human challenge in life.

In 2005, Antonia began utilizing EMDR Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) training with Laurel Parnell, Ph.D. (in a small group) at Esalen Institute in Big Sur CA. She has been using EMDR in her office and hospital settings with babies, children, teens, and adults ever since, with positive results. She has completed the advanced 3&4 training with Dr. Parnell and participates in ongoing professional consultation.
